Our chalet is in the heart of the popular Portes du Soleil ski region in the French Alps and is surrounded by a triangle of traditional Alpine villages Morzine-Montriond, Les Gets and Saint-Jean D’Aulps. Ski Weekends Morzine is a perfect location for a short break.
As Chalet Margaritka is situated in the peaceful hamlet of Essert-Romand, which is just minutes from the nearest ski lifts, guests can enjoy both the tranquillity of the area as well as the lively bars, restaurants, nightclubs and shops in the surrounding three villages, which are only a five-minute drive away.
Nearby picturesque Savoyard village Morzine, which is the largest of the 13 resorts comprising Portes du Soleil, is nestled in a valley between Lake Geneva and Mont Blanc. Morzine is ideally suited to flexible holiday breaks with it’s extensive skiing as well as its proximity to Geneva airport.
This makes Morzine hard to beat for weekend skiers with short flights and transfers taking less than 70 minutes to and from the airport. In little over an hour after being picked up by us at the airport, you can be enjoying a quiet drink sitting by Chalet Margaritka’s welcoming log fire, enjoying the discourse of other guests who are anticipating the next day’s ski guiding. There are many ski resorts around Geneva, but few are as close or have as easy access as Morzine; definitely not all are so picturesque and they certainly don’t boast the variety of ski terrain, be it on or off piste.
In a weekend’s skiing you can only touch a fraction of the 650 kilometre’s of piste available but with Glyn, Rita and Alex’s expertise and knowledge of the area you will find the best runs or challenges to maximise the enjoyment of your Ski Weekends Morzine stay.
Morzine village is a hot-spot for year-round alpine pursuits, has many excellent shops, bars, restaurants and nightclubs, and offers a wide choice of activities for families.
